Being Dad

The greatest gift I've received in life is the gift of being Dad. There's no other joy like the joy of seeing my sons and hearing them call me Dad.

I've never witnessed a power greater than the power of their mothers giving birth and I'm awed by their mothers' love for them. To be part of that is miraculous and God given.

Holding them as little ones made my heart soar and watching them grow up so quickly made me sad. When they're not with me, a part of me is missing - a part of me is sad.

I always long for the times they return, even for short periods because I receive not only the pleasure of re-connecting with them but also re-connecting with the very best part of myself - being Dad.
